Historical Stovall House
Stovall House had its origin during ownership of the property by Moses Harshaw, about 1837-40. It was added to by its next owner, Lucius Lamar and completed in its final form by W. I. Stovall, a builder, sawmiller and farmer.
A building in front housed the Post Office from about 1890 until 1911.
Following the death of the Stovalls the property was owned by Dr. A. J. Walter, a retired Navy surgeon who operated a medical practice in the house for many years.
Stovall House has been a Bed and Breakfast inn since the 1980's.
